In The Stillness

In the stillness
of the seagull’s Flight, gliding
over ocean waves,
my spirit does delight,
with a gladness that gives
wings to my smile.

For the time, now, I am
still here,
so filled
with gladness;
beauty abounds within all I see.

Truly, I do rejoice
in celebration of many victories
caused by my defeats.
And I dance
in the triumph of the human spirit
as did my ancestors
long before.
