Pahlavan
(pah-lav-on)

Refers to the greatness of the athlete physically and spiritually. He / She represents the highest ideals in terms of fairness, good sportsmanship, courtesy and genuine humbleness. Example of such an attitude was a Persian wrestler who when he saw his opponents right arm was injured refused to use his own right arm when fighting him.

Pahlavan (Pah-Lav-On) a word borrowed from the Persian language.

To be Pahlavan is the highest honor given to any athlete.

Divisions

Division I

  1. Power Lifting Only.
  2. Goal: Lift Heaviest Weight Possible.

Division II

  1. Open to everyone.
  2. Goal: To become Pahlavan.
  3. Power Lifting is part of the venue to accomplish Goal.
  4. Intention is to lift heaviest weight possible.

Division III

  1. Sense professionals are severally at a disadvantage in terms of physical strength in comparison to blue collar workers. This Division is for Professionals only (Teachers, Doctors, Lawyers, etc.)
  2. Goal: To become Pahlavan.
  3. Power Lifting is part of the venue to accomplish Goal.
  4. Intention is to lift heaviest weight possible.
